Hon Duncan Chiu has been a driving force in Hong Kong's innovation and technology (I&T) development since the early 2000s. An active advocate for I&T policies, an experienced entrepreneur, and a seasoned investor, he is widely regarded as a leading figure in Hong Kong's I&T sector.
Elected in 2022 as a Legislative Council member representing the Technology & Innovation Constituency, Duncan works to unite the industry, voice public concerns, and contribute to Hong Kong's development. He has frequently provided recommendations to the government on issues related to innovation and technology, economic policies, sports development and healthcare services.
In the field of technology and innovation, Duncan serves as President of the Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council and Convenor of Innovate for Future , Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus Scheme (RAISe+), Chairman of the HKTDC Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Services Advisory Committee, and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Regarding healthcare and public services, Duncan holds significant responsibilities as Member and Chairman of the Information Technology Services Committee at the Hospital Authority. He also serves as Chairman of the Governance Committees of Kwai Chung Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital.
In sports and regional collaboration, Duncan contributes his leadership as President of the Asian Squash Federation and Chairman of the Squash Association of Hong Kong, China. Additionally, he plays a key role in regional cooperation as the Chief Liaison Officer of the Hong Kong Service Center in Nansha New District, Guangzhou and Former Chief Representative of Hengqin FTZ (Hong Kong) Representative Office.
