Karel Kubat is the Co‑founder and CEO of Union Labs, building the world’s first fully trustless interoperability L1 powered by zero‑knowledge technology.
Karel has been coding smart contracts since 2016, starting with Solidity before expanding to Rust and Go in 2018. Drawing from his technical expertise and background in systems engineering, he developed the IBC protocol on Substrate (Polkadot).
Under his leadership, Union is focused on the Bitcoin ecosystem through its connection to Babylon Genesis, its integration as a Bitcoin Supercharged Network, and its creation of Auro BTC, the first Bitcoin LST that will be composable, verifiable, and usable anywhere.
